Zynga.com, the powerful creator behind the popular Facebook app Zynga Poker, made an announcement earlier this week it was acquiring the company that created PokerTableRatings.com.
PTR is widely held as one of the most innovative poker tracking websites on the market today, with custom tracking stats on tens of thousands of online poker players that play on sites like Full Tilt, PokerStars and Bodog.
Zynga’s acquisition of MarketZero, the team that was responsible for creating PokerTableRatings, bolsters the company’s billion-dollar profile exponentially, especially since it plans to use the company to modernize the existing game’s capabilities and functions.
PTR reps have made it known to most of the other poker news outlets that the site itself is not being sold to Zynga, just the creative team that was responsible for its technology and software.
Zynga’s cash machine has been averaging one acquisition a month over the last 11 months, with corporate holdings in social media, design and multiple game studios being bought up at will by the gaming giant.
According to TechCrunch.com, they also added Dreamworks Animation Chief Jeffrey Katzenberg to their Board of Directors as well, adding even more firepower to a company that has received over half a billion dolloars in cash funding alone in the past several years.
