Just a few days ago we brought you the news that the Carbon Poker Bad Beat Jackpot was won by an ‘unlucky’ online player and now news has hit the online stratosphere that the UB Bad Beat Jackpot has been hit and it was won by a sixty year old online poker player.
Online player KAPPIT from Texas is a sixty year old poker player who enjoys the tables at UB. KAPPIT was playing at UB’s $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold’em tables this past Tuesday when she was dealt a pair of nines during the small blind. KAPPIT was up against online player CJBV who hopped in the hand with a pair of Queens.
The flop showed 8d-9c-9s so KAPPIT checked her hand since she had quad nines. Another player, BPARKY01 checked and CJBV raised the bet to $2.50 which KAPPIT called and BPARKY folded. The turn showed a Queen and KAPPIT decided to check call CJBVs $6.50 bet and then she led out the betting with a $33.29 bet on the river when it showed a Queen.
CJBV called the bet instantly since he held quad Queen’s now and he was win the $80 pot. However this was not the end of the rewards. UltimateBet let the players know that the Bad Beat Jackpot had been hit since KAPPIT had been beaten by Quad Queens when she held Quad nines herself.
KAPPIT would win $218,115.71 for the loss while the winner of the hand CJBV would take home $109,057.85 for the win. The seven other players at the table would take home $1,000 each just for sitting at the same table as the players that activated the jackpot. 610 players would earn $89 and some change for playing the same table limit at the same time as the table which hit the jackpot.
KAPPIT commented later to UB that she had been playing poker for forty five years and most of the time it was live poker. She had hit a jackpot one time at a casino but it was nowhere close to the amount she won from the Bad Beat Jackpot.
