Prahlad Friedman Apparently Forgets to “Practice Avoidance”

Amidst weeks of speculation at poker forums and other poker news media outlets alike, it looks like it’s finally official: Prahlad Friedman has signed with major online poker giant UB Poker.
Normally playing under the name “Spirit Rock,” Prahlad became one of the most feared players in the poker stratosphere, and has made quite the name for himself with his unusual and sometimes eccentric antics while at the felt. His poker rap in the WSOP several years ago was a viral hit online and the infamous line “they shoulda practiced avoidance” was one of the most used quotes the game has ever seen.
Up until the signing, Friedman was a part of a limited breed of poker professionals that refused to ever be apart of any type of “corporate” poker website – no matter how big the payday. He was one of the most respected tournament players on the live circuit and won countless millions playing nosebleed cash games online at the very site that picked him up as their newest face, UB. However, it does look the money was a bit too enticing this time around and he was willing to give up his morals to keep up with his ever-noticeable lavish lifestyle.
With poker legends Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke leaving UB recently, Friedman steps into some rather large shoes. But he is bringing with him a reputation of being one of the best players in the game and will headline an already-stacked lineup of young online pros that UB has picked up within the last year. It’ll be interesting to see what he brings to the table when he starts sporting UB patches at live tournaments – stay tuned…
