LVPD Working on Leads to Solve Bellagio Robbery

The outrageous robbery at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas just a few days ago has everyone talking. How could someone just walk in the casino and steal over one million dollars in chips? It is a very unusual case of robbery and Lt. Clint Nichols wants to know exactly what the robber was thinking and he plans on asking the suspect.
Nichols works the robbery section of the Metropolitan Police Department and he commented recently that security failures are not the reason the robber was able to steal so many chips from the casino. Nichols stated that the robbery could have happened anywhere, like the MGM or the Circus Circus casino. Despite not having a ton to go on he plans on finding out exactly why the Bellagio was the target when he catches the assailant.
Police have been investigating every lead they come across in the case in the hopes that they will catch the robber. They have even chased down fake craigslist ads for stolen Bellagio chips from those who are creating pranks online.
Nichols has stated that this case is a very high priority in his department and they are looking at every angle. The robbery took place in the early morning hours last Tuesday when the robber parked his black sport motorcycle in the north valet entrance of the casino.
The man then entered the casino wearing his helmet, a white full face version, and a leather jacket. The man walked up to a nearby craps table and then pointed a gun at the dealer and demanded cash. The man then left the casino with around $1.5 million in chips. Casino security did not try to apprehend the man as they were afraid that he would injure or kill a patron if he decided to use the gun he was carrying.
It was after the robbery that police released information that a similar robbery had taken place at the Sun coast casino just one week before. That time a man with a similar look stole $20,000 in cash from the poker cashier’s cage.
When the Sun coast robbery occurred it was kept private due to the surveillance footage not showing identifiable traits. All casinos in the area were alerted with an industry crime alert system as soon as the Sun coast robbery took place. Police are working hard to obtain the criminal and using information from both incidents to try and piece together who the robber is.
