PokerStars Million Dollar Challenge a poker themed television show was back in action this past weekend when the first new episode of season two aired on FOX. The Million Dollar Challenge came on right after NFL Sunday.

Chris Rose was on hand to host the show while Michelle Nunes appeared to talk to PokerStars players about a free roll that was taking place online. The first episode of season two kicked off with contestant Jessica Cupini a single mom and college student.

Daniel Negreanu a PokerStars pro came out on stage and to explain the rules to Cupini as well as the audience. The game then began between Cupini and her first opponent Brooke Burke of Dancing with the Stars fame.

Both players were given 20,000 chips and they would play three rounds. Negreanu helped Cupini with the first round. Negreanu can coach but he is not allowed to see the player’s hole cards. Burke took down the first two pots and Cupini managed to double up with pocket tens and eventually she would win the matchup earning a trip to the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Cupini then had to face David Williams a top poker pro. To start out Cupini did well and earned half the chips in play when Williams decided to fold. When the final hand came around Williams went all in with an ace in hand. Cupini would call with pocket threes. Cupini would win the hand and earn $25,000 to go along with her trip to the Caribbean.

Cupini then had the decision of whether to take the money and run or take on Negreanu. She decided to go for it and the chance to win $100,000. Cupini would apparently be very confident and she would shove all in with A-4 on a flop of J-10-9. Negreanu called and he held Q-6 which a river card gave him a pair and the win. The win sent Cupini home empty handed and $10,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation which is the charity of Negreanu’s choice.
