PokerStars Unveils New “Home Games” Feature

PokerStars announced earlier today one of their newest features to their software: PokerStars Home Games.
This new software is accessible to any of your friends around the USA and the world, and allows the Manager of your poker club to control which players can participate through PokerStars’ own live network. Although only available through testing right now on the .net version of the site, it is expected to include real money games within the next few days.
“The essence of Home Games means that a player can choose to compete in ring games and tournaments, across a huge variety of poker variants allowing that player to experience the convenience, competition and fun in playing online home games with people they know,” according to PokerStars.
Club managers can send out invite codes via email to whoever they want to join their game or tournament, and from there they can set their own tournament lobbies, table designs and limits among other controlled attributes. It’s also a convenient way to organize larger games more privately and not have restrictions on chat (feel free to drop the “F” bomb without fearing for your chat privilege life, haha) or worrying about people crashing your tournaments uninvited.
You can also utilize the software to keep track of your Home Games, as well as set up Tournament Leaderboards to keep it fresh and competitive.
It’s a great new feature that should catch on nicely among online poker forums and individual groups who want to keep their tournaments and games more exclusive and friendly. Go figure PokerStars would come up with yet another cool idea, right?
You can set up Home Games on your existing PokerStars account or by checking out their FAQ page regarding the new feature.
