Packers Defeat Steelers in Super Bowl XLV – Vegas Sportsbooks WEEP

The Super Bowl clash between the Steelers and the Packers almost didn’t live up to the hype Sunday night…

But the word “almost” was thrown out the window once the 2nd half began, as the Steelers began mounting a furious comeback after being down 21-3 towards the end of the 1st half.  Ben Roethlisberger, the embattled Pittsburgh QB who was aiming for history with his 3rd Super Bowl ring, made some great plays and inched his team closer to the Packers with a TD strike to Mike Wallace late in the game.

However, Aaron Rodgers and the Pack would not be denied their 4th Super Bowl title in the modern era.  The ballsy quarterback from Chico, California, kept his cool for most of the game and made critical 3rd down plays to his go to receivers Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson.

Rodgers and Co. kept the Steelers off the field during important moments in Super Bowl XLV, and when it mattered the most the Packers fought off a rather flat Steelers D-line and kept Big Ben at bay and off of his game for most of the 1st half – and more importantly, on the last drive of the game.

The Green Bay Packers won the game 31-25 and it’s not available just yet on just how much money Las Vegas sportsbooks might’ve lost on this game, with most of the word around town saying that huge bets were being made on the Pack at -2.5 and on the over of 44.5 (varied at some online sportsbooks) – BOTH of which were covered.

Aaron Rodgers would eventually be named Super Bowl MVP and also climbed out of the shadow of his predecessor Brett Favre with his amazing performance Sunday evening.

*sideNOTE: rumors on Twitter and other gambling forums have speculated that legendary Vegas sports bettor Billy Walters put down $9,000,000 on the Packers!!!
