November Nine Finalized

The WSOP ‘November Nine’ have been named. The November Nine are the nine individuals who have made it to the final table of this year’s WSOP Main Event texas hold’em tournament. This match will decide who wins the 2010 WSOP Champion and will take place November 6th. This format is a departure from times past. Two years ago, the powers that be decided to postpone the final match a few months after the final table had been decided. Prior to the change, the entire event was played out to completion during the other events. One reason given for the format change is that it gives players an opportunity to get adjusted to the fame that comes ‘part and parcel’ with making it to the final table.

The nine players who managed to play their way into the November Nine this year are Jonathan Duhamel, John Dolan, Joseph Cheong, John Racener, Matthew Jarvis, Filippo Candio, Michael ‘the Grinder’ Mizrachi, Cuong ‘Soi’ Nguyen and Jason Sentl. All players were listed according to chip count, from highest to lowest.

This year, the group has somewhat of an international feel. The competitors hail from 3 countries, Italy, The United States and Canada. Before the field was whittled down to nine, there were more then 7000 individuals from 93 countries and territories “fighting” it out to win poker’s top prize, a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Championship. Today, only 9 individuals have the chance to win this very prestigious award.

Seat positions have been drawn for the final match. Seat 1 belongs to Jason Sentl. He hails from St. Louis Park, MN. Seat 2 goes to Joseph Cheong ( La Mirada, CA); Seat 3, John Dolan (Bonita Springs, FL); Seat 4, Jonathan Duhamel (Boucherville, Quebec); Seat 5, Michael ‘The Grinder’ Mizrachi (Miami, FL); Seat 6, Matthew Jarvis (Surrey, British Columbia); Seat 7, John Racener (Port Richey, FL); Seat 8, Filippo Candio (Cagliari, Sardinia Italy) and Seat 9 Cuong ‘Soi’ Nguyen (St. Ana, CA).
