Microgaming came out on top winning the Best Casino Software Provider in the 2010 Casinomeister Awards, the results of which were only recently announced.

The 2010 Casinomeister Awards honours the best and worst casinos in the industry since 1998.   However, it is not the first time that Microgaming has won the “best software provider”.  Microgaming won both the 2005 and 2006 since awards however they have not won it since 2006.  Previous awards had gone to Wagerworks in 2007, Cryptologic in 2008 and Wagerworks won it last again in 2009.

Unlike its competitors however, Microgaming does have sentimental ties that stretch back to the foundations of the online casino industry.  Microgaming provided the software that launched the first ever online casinos from way back in 1994.

The Isle of Man based company is now one of the biggest gaming software providers in online gaming.  Microgaming provides software to more than 120 casinos and 40 poker rooms listed on its website.  Some of the most well known online casinos that utilise Microgaming’s software, progressive jackpots and instant win games include 32Red, Go Wild Casino, UK Casino Club, Royal Vegas Casino, Spin Palace and more.

Some of the 40 poker rooms that operate on the Microgaming network (formerly known as the Prima Network) include Unibet, Ladbrokes Poker, NordicBet Poker, Crazy Poker and 24Poker.

The CEO of Microgaming, upon receiving Casino Mesiter’s 2010 Best Casino Software Award stated, “We are proud to win the award for Best Software Provider and owe this to our dedicated teams around the globe, who strive to develop and deliver first class gaming content.  Hopefully, this will be a sign of things to come for the rest of the year!”
