LAPT Grand Final Underway

The Latin America Poker Tour is one of many popular tours that PokerStars has created. The tour works its way across Latin America hosting various poker events. Poker pros from all across the world visit the various places such as Argentina to participate in the many events. Season 3 of the LAPT is almost ended as the Grand Final kicked off just yesterday.

The Grand Final is taking place in Rosario, Argentina at the City Center Casino. The Grand Final had a buy-in of $5,000 and 254 players decided to fork over the dough to compete. First place is set to earn just over $322,000 while the total prize pool is sitting at $1,176,200.

Once day one began players were competing in full force. After eight levels of play had been completed the field was narrowed down to 131 players. Many PokerStars pros showed up to compete and several of them busted in the first few levels. These players were Victor Ramdin, Humberto Brenes, Gualter Salles, Alexandre Gomes and Chris Moneymaker.

Even though these players busted, there are still a few pros left like Dennis Phillips, Angel Guillen, Maria Mayrinck, Andre Akkari, Christian de Leon, Nacho Barbero and Leo Fernandez. Going into today’s game play, Nico Fierro had the lead. Day two began today at twelve and by Sunday the event will have played down to the winner of the LAPT Grand Final.
