Huck Seed Crowned Winner Of WSOP Tourney of Champions

Huck Seed entered the WSOP Tourney of Champions Texas Holdem event as an underdog and exited it a winner. Though finishing 13th in seat voting, he managed to play his way to the top, winning not only $500,000 but also a bit of respect and of course, bragging rights. The 2010 Tourney of Champions was the biggest live freeroll event of its kind.
This isn’t Seed’s first brush with major success. He was a top player in the latter part of the 1990s and the early part of the 2000s. Seed won himself a gold bracelet in the WSOP Main Event in 1996, in addition to three other top WSOP honors.
Though Huck’s star shone brightly just a decade ago, other poker pros have since managed to steal the spotlight. This accounts for Seed’s low vote count. No one expected him to enter the tournament and win it, especially not with all of the other big names in the field. Right away Mike Matusow and Daniel Negreaunu begin dominating play. However, Huck somehow, someway managed to turn things around on Day 3, which consisted of 16 hours of intense play. He would eventually walk away with $500,000, exactly one half of the giant prize pool. After the event, Seed said,
“I’m not much of a self-promoter,” Seed said about his approach to tournament games. “I just love to play poker. Sometimes, when you love to do something it shows and it produces results.”
Coming in second place was poker superstar, Howard Lederer. Though he didn’t finish in the top spot or win the top prize, Lederer didn’t do too badly. He managed to walk away with $250,000, not a paltry amount of money at all. Below, is a list of the top 9 finishers for this year’s Tourney of Champions.
1. Huck Seed $500,000
