Top online poker room Full Tilt Poker started their Mini Full Tilt Online Poker Series just last night and players are already hitting the tables in full swing. The MiniFTOPS gives players a chance to compete in the same type of tournaments as the Full Tilt Online Poker Series but for much smaller buy-ins.

The MiniFTOPS is offering up thirty four events this time around and the buy-ins are one tenth the price of the FTOPS events. The Mini version may not offer the large prize pools like the regular FTOPS but they are still offering up a guaranteed $6 million in prize money which will hopefully be increased as more people compete in the various events.

The series will take place over eleven days and those who manage to make a final table at a Mini event will earn a limited edition MiniFTOPS jacket and winners of the events will earn a silver jersey as well as the nice first place prize.

The MiniFTOPS will also have a leader board where the top player will earn a prize package that will be worth around $10,000 in tournament entries. The package will also include entries into all of the next FTOPS events excluding the two day event.

The first event of the MiniFTOPS XVII took place last night and was a No Limit Hold’em tournament. The event had a buy-in of $20 plus $2 and the event had 14,938 players competing. The prize pool was guaranteed at $200,000 but with so many players competing the event had a total prize pool of $298,760.

The competition was tough and by the time it came down to four way play the players decided to cut a deal. Each player left earned a five figure payday with the second place finisher, Pimpnho, taking home the top prize of $37,245. First would go to loldazzlements who earned just over $30,000.
