Bwin to Sell OnGame Poker Network Before Merge with PartyGaming?

One of the largest online gaming networks is getting ready to merge with another major player in the online gambling industry. Bwin is about to merge with PartyGaming and as they get ready to do so it has been reported that Bwin may be selling their online poker network Ongame. Bwin took on the poker network in 2006 and it is the network they offer online poker from.
According to a recent article at Casino Affiliate Programs, Bwin is considering selling their network since they will be accessing Party Poker which is the poker network for PartyGaming. As far as rankings go, Party Poker is higher up so it would make sense to sell Ongame. PartyPoker currently sits fourth in the rankings at PokerScout for global poker traffic while Ongame is in seventh place.
However it may be a mistake for Bwin to let go of the Ongame network. The network has been doing well the last few weeks as EGR has stated their rake distribution system as well as the Essence model is a way to reward poker rooms for bringing in a larger volume of casual players that often lose but are needed to create a sustainable growth of poker rooms and networks.
But despite the good ratings as of late, Ongame may be let go as PartyPoker is ranked better and already has the player volume. In the coming weeks the final decision will be made and we will find out if Bwin is going to sell the Ongame poker network or if something else is in the works.
