Alex Rodriguez Hits His 600th Homerun

Written by Thomas | Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Alex Rodriguez hits his 600th Homerun. After doing so, he received a warm reception from not only New York Yankee fans but also his teammates, who congratulated him once he made his way back to the dugout. Derek Jeter was on first base when Rodriguez came up to bat and knocked his 600th homerun into Monument Park, where a worker picked up the ball.

Alex Rodriguez’s 600th home run, puts him among some really great hitters. It also placed him behind only a few gentlemen in the overall homerun race. As of today, only the following men have hit more homeruns then Alex Rodriguez, Willie Mayes, Ken Griffin Jr., Babe Ruth, Sammy Sosa. You’ll notice that the list is rather small. That is because Alex has established himself as one of the best homerun hitters of all time.

Of all of the 600 homerun-hitters in the history of Major League Baseball, no one has reached this number as fast as Alex Rodriguez. No matter if you love him or hate him, you must respect his hitting ability. It has truly been impressive. While his march toward 600 may not be as exciting as the alleged-steroid fueled homerun derbies of the 1990s, it’s still a very great milestone to be reached and exciting in its own way.

The rest of the season promises to be a good one for MLB. There are still lots of good games to be played and a pretty exciting post-season with the New York Yankees looking to be in the hunt for the World Series.

Let’s just hope that Alex Rodriguez is able to stay focused the rest of the season. Hitting 600 homeruns is quite exciting and naturally puts Rodriguez’s in some very impressive company. Hopefully, for the Yankees, he will be able to hold things together and still play well down the stretch. They will need him to play well if they want to make it to this years’ World Series.  MLB betting is still in full effect so get your account setup today.
