Absolute Poker and UB Add New Security Options

Absolute Poker and UB, two of the top online poker rooms, have now added a new security option for their players. The new option can be used to make players accounts safer and almost eliminate the possibility that a player’s account will be hacked.
The new option is called a security token – and players can use the token to protect their poker account. The token is a small device that can be used along with a password to gain access to their account. A player must simply purchase a token and then activate it. After the player enters in their password they will need to push a button on the token.
After the button is pushed a string of numbers will appear that the player must enter in as a onetime code. Every time the player logs in to their account a new code will be provided by the token. This makes the players account safe since someone would have to have the token and the password to be able to access the players account.
Joe Sebok, a member of Team UB, commented on the commitment of the online poker room to player safety. He stated: “We are committed to doing everything possible to safeguard our network and players, and we want to provide every option to boost their personal security, particularly those who keep sick amounts of cash in their accounts day-to-day. The Security Token will provide that most up-to-date security solution to ensure that every player’s personal information and bankroll is always protected.”
Players can get their own security token by logging on to UB or Absolute Poker and visiting the frequent player reward store. The new option was a smart move by both poker rooms as they have been in the news over the past few years for security problems.
