The National Basketball Association will feature an all-star game of another kind when the Miami Heat take on the New York Knicks this Sunday, February 27th, 2011. The game has been magnitized now that the Knicks acquired Carmelo Anthony in a multi-player trade this week from the Denver Nuggets. The Heat are currently in the lead in the Southeast Division, while the Knicks are in second place in the Atlantic Division. Miami is currently the second seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Knicks would start the postseason as the #6 if the season ended today.

With the blockbuster ‘Melo trade causing the Knicks had to give up Raymond Felton and several other key players, New York and Co. (oh and that Amare Stoudemire guy too, I guess) finally feel like they can compete with the likes of the big four in Boston and big three in Miami. Right now the Knicks are three games above .500 after winning their last three games prior to the All-Star break. New York has already tied their win total from a season ago. They are also on pace to finish their first winning season in this decade.

The Miami Heat have been the talk of the league all season. After LeBron James made his announcement that he was heading from Cleveland to Miami, many have found ways to hate on the Heat. James teamed up with Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. All three of those players played in the Eastern Conference All Star game. James leads the team in scoring with 26.2 points per game, and also 7.2 assists per game. Wade has been slowed up due to an array of injuries, including one at the All Star game.

The Knicks are 13-14 when playing on the road this season. When playing against Eastern Conference foes the Knicks are 19-11. For Miami, they have won 21 of 26 games at home this season and have went 28-8 against teams from their same conference.

This game will be a great game to bet on. Since the game is in Miami, they will certainly be the favorite. Anthony has brough several points to the already loaded New York Knicks offense. Look for the Miami Heat to be favored -5.5. Miami will be out to prove something in this game. Take the Miami Heat to beat the New York Knicks on Sunday night!
