eWalletXpress Funds Seized By USA Government

After a little over a month of speculation, it looks like popular online gambling deposit method eWalletXpress has finally confirmed to its USA customers that any funds placed in their North American accounts (unknown at the moment if Canadian citizens were affected) have been effectively seized by the United States government pending review.
Customers were greeted with the following message when they logged into their accounts this week:
“Dear Customers,
You all may already be aware of the fact that eWalletXpress has been out of service since November last year.
At this point we must regretfully inform you that our funds and accounts were seized by the United States Government as part of a confidential investigation. We have contacted the U.S. investigating agencies and are currently negotiating with them. At present, eWalletXpress is unable to access these funds or return them to you because the money is no longer in our custody or control.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Due to the sensitivity of the situation we were not able to notify you earlier and we do sincerely apologize again for any inconvenience you may have suffered.”
Just like their fallen comrades over at Neteller a few years prior, eWalletXpress has become yet another victim of a USA-driven witch hunt to drive out payment processors that accept gambling deposits from Americans wanting to play poker or casino games. Unfortunately, as of right now it is not known how long it will take for the US government to conclude their investigation, and no timeframe has been given by the support staff at eWalletXpress as to when any seized funds will be returned.
“We are working to get the money back and customers will definitely be receiving their funds,” said an eWalletXpress customer service agent. “Unfortunately we don’t know any sort of time frame on when that will be.”
