Brett Favre is 40 years old and one the better quarterbacks of our generation. The decade of the 1990s was thrilling and quite successful for Favre. He won two Super Bowls and played alongside the legend and “Minster of Defense,” Reggie White. Favre was a career player for the Green Bay Packers until he recently signed with the Minnesota Vikings. This caused some hard feelings in the region, but ultimately Favre is still loved all over, even by those fans in the Wisconsin area.

This year, instead of Brad Childress, the head coach for the Vikings, visiting Favre and making a case for his return, three of Brett’s teammates made the trip. They were guard Steve Hutchinson, Defensive End Jared Allen and Ryan Longwell, place kicker. The men traveled to Hattiesburg without being invited or even alerting Favre that they were coming. Instead, they rode into town and had a little sit down with the future Hall of Famer. They asked him, straight up, if he had more year left in him. He responded that he did and agreed to come back for one more year. Minnesota Viking’s fans were elated.

Ryan Longwell would drive Favre to the Viking’s headquarters so that he could announce his decision to team officials. Longwell’s SUV was trailed by three local television station’s helicopters. Once the duo arrived at the headquarters, photographers took pictures and a few fans screamed and cheered in delight. Favre acknowledged them, by waving a hand.

Whether or not Favre’s return will take the team to the Super Bowl is unknown. However, one thing is for certain, the Minnesota Vikings franchise and players are pretty stoked.  This news definitely changed the odds for the Vikings to win the Superbowl.  See the latest lines at our favorite place to bet, Sportsbook.com!
