The 2010 NBA Finals are set to begin on Thursday evening. The series will of course start in Los Angeles, home of the 2008-2009 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Head coach Phil Jackson is looking for his 11th NBA title as a head coach, while star guard Kobe Bryant is seeking number 5 as a player. The Lakers opponent will be the 2007-2008 title champion Boston Celtics. As head coach Doc Rivers said: “The starting lineup for the Celtics has never been beat in a playoff series.”

After the series gets started on Thursday night, game two will be played on Sunday night in Los Angeles. The series will head East and be played in Boston for games three and four played Tuesday June 8th and Thursday June 10th. Game five back in Los Angeles is slated for Sunday June 13th. If game six is needed, it will be played in Boston on Tuesday June 15th. Lastly, the seventh game of the series, if it is needed, will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday June 17th.

According to most sportsbooks, the Los Angeles Lakers are the decided favorites to win this best of seven series. Despite the Celtics winning this match-up in June of 2008, oddsmakers feel Kobe and the Lakers are better equipped to win this series. Los Angeles is listed at -190, while the Celtics are +155.

For Game 1, on Thursday night – the Lakers are a 5.5 point favorite. Bettors can garner the Lakers -5.5 at (-110) or the Celtics +5.5 at (-110). The Moneyline has the Lakers listed at -235 and the Celtics at +195. If a bettor selects the Celtics to win the game outright, and places a $100 bet on it, and Boston wins – they would walk away with $195 from the cashier. The over/under for the game is listed at 191.5. People who are looking to wager on the total for this game are getting -110 odds for this over/under.

For Game 1, and even the entire series – some excellent prop bets are available – take full advantage of these, and don’t miss a single minute of action in the 2010 NBA Finals!
